Name of Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) 01 post(Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms).
Eligibility: Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum of 60% marks overall) or equivalent in Bioinformatics/Biotechnology/Life Sciences or any other related field with two years post-Masters degree research experience in bioinformatics are eligible to attend the interview. Candidates having prior experience in the area of analysis of NGS including RNA-Seq data will be preferred. |
The fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT. The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Research Associate (RA-I) (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in any discipline of Life Sciences with good academic record having throughout first division with strong publication records are eligible to apply. Candidate having prior work experience in abiotic stress related research in plants, sufficient knowledge in usage of computers and exposure to Next Generation Sequencing platforms is desirable. Candidate having basic bioinformatic knowledge to work on servers will be given preference.
The position is purely temporary and is co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Qualification for Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) 01 post: Ph. D. Degree with relevant research experience in Life Science/ Bioinformatics/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science or a related field. The candidate should have first class/division throughout academic career. Preference will be given to candidates having prior experience in the area of next-generation sequencing data analysis, bioinformatics, molecular analysis of plant genes, and webserver development. Candidates with expertise in photosynthesis and algal biology are also encouraged to apply.
Consolidated Pay: INR 60000 pm.
Qualification for Post Graduate Research Fellow (PGRF) 01 post: Candidates with Master's or equivalent interdisciplinary Degree in Environment/Ecology/Life sciences/Bioinformatics or any other related field, with relevant research experience, are eligible to apply. Essential Qualification:

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions in the following projects (i) Two Senior Research Fellow in the DBT project entitled ‘Characterization of ubiquitin/26S proteasome pathway-related genes by VIGS in tomato during ToLCNDV infection’, (ii) One Senior Research Fellows in the DBT project entitled ‘Introgression of Begomovirus resistance genes in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) using MAS and genomics approach’, and (iii) One Research Associate in the DST-SERB project entitled “Identification and characterization of novel genes and alleles contributing for resistant starch traits in foxtail millet”, under the supervision of Dr. Manoj Prasad, Scientist, NIPGR.
(A) Senior Research Fellow (Three posts): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in any subject of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Plant Molecular Biology or any other related field with at least two years research experience (supported by atleast one publication in peer-reviewd international journal with JCR impact factor) are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in the area of advanced molecular biology and/or plant virology will be given preference.
(B) Research Associate (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
Candidates having Ph.D. degree (awarded) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or any other related field are eligible to apply. The candidate should have a good academic record and research experience. At least 5 publications in peer-reviewed international journals with JCR impact factor are desirable. Candidate having research experience of working in genomics-assisted breeding will be given preference.
The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms.
