ABOUT DBT-BIC WORKSHOP

The DBT Bioinformatics Centre at NIPGR periodically organizes trainings/workshops/symposiums/ seminars in Bioinformatics. These workshops offer short courses useful for understanding the developments in different aspects of Bioinformatics. We aim to provide exposure and hands-on intensive training in Systems Biology, Bioinformatics applications in agriculture, genomics, and proteomics.

This year, we are going to organise this workshop, where the first day is dedicated to only lectures for 100 participants. Out of those, hands-on training for 30 students/researchers will be provided in the next two days. This workshop includes hands-on sessions on Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, Machine Learning (ML), Drug Designing, Molecular Docking, QTL Mapping, Genome Assembly, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Image processing.

Eligibility

Participants in the hands-on sessions (March 14-15, 2024) must have basic knowledge of Linux commands. There are no specific criteria to join the first day of the workshop e.g. March 13, 2024
No TA/DA and accommodation will be provided to the candidates.
Selection of the candidates for hands-on sessions will be made based on CV (indicating the degree), academic record, and area of research.
Participants must bring their laptops for the hands-on sessions (for the full workshop).
Registration kits will be provided to all 100 participants. Additionally, Demo data, manuals, and certificates will be provided for the participants selected for the full workshop.
