Research Associate (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project
Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D Degree in Life Science/Biotechnology with strong publication record are eligible to apply. The candidates having prior work experience in biotic stress, handling chromatography and sufficient knowledge in metabolomics will be preferred.
Laboratory Attandant (one post): Consolidated emoluments of . 12000/- per month.
Qualification: Candidates should have 12th pass certificate with experience of working in plant research laboratories. Candidates with experience in working with Arabidopsis and insect rearing will be preferred.
The positions are purely temporary and are co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of post shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

Essential Qualification:
Traineeship: Candidate having B.Tech or Master Degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology with strong interest in Computational Biology and First class/ division throughout academic career may apply.
Studentship: Students currently pursuing the final year of B.Tech or Masters Degree or equivalent in Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology, requiring a thesis as a necessary pre-requisite for completion of respective degree and First class/ division throughout academic career may apply.
Desirable Qualification: Proficiency in Coding Algorithms and Bioinformatics Applications, evidenced by short trainings or computing courses.
The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the tenure of the training period as mentioned above. - These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowances, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable in NIPGR. The Pay Bands and Grade Pay mentioned above are as per the pay structure of VIth Pay Commission of the Government of India. NIPGR is in process of implementing the revised Pay Structure as per VII Pay Commission of the Government of India for its employees. Other benefits including NPS, Medical Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Leave Encashment, Gratuity etc. are admissible as per rules of the Institute.
- All applicants must fulfill the requirements of the post and other conditions stipulated in the advertisement as on the last date of the receipt of application. They are advised to satisfy themselves before applying that they possess the qualifications laid down for various posts as on the last date of receipt of the application. National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an Autonomous Research Institution funded by Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various aspects of plant genomics. The Institute is also in the process of establishing a NIPGR Translational Centre at Biotech Science Cluster, NCR, Faridabad. NIPGR invites applications from Indian Citizens for filling up the vacant posts on Direct Recruitment basis, as detailed below. The posts are temporary but likely to continue.
A. Staff Scientists
Specialization: Applicant should have a Ph.D. with excellent academic credentials along with the track record of scientific productivity evidenced by publications/patents/products in the frontier areas of Plant Biology such as, Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Molecular Breeding, Transgenics for crop improvement and other emerging areas based on plant genomics.
Remuneration: The length of experience and scientific accomplishments/quality of scientific productivity record will be major factors in deciding the level of appointment as Staff Scientist as well as starting salary in the Pay Bands of 15,600-39,100 (with grade pay of 5400), and 37,400-67,000 (with grade pay of 8,700 and 8,900) plus usual allowances admissible to the Central Government employees. However, NIPGR reserves the right to select candidates in the lower grade against the foregoing posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. Five posts (SC-2, ST-1, OBC-2) in the Pay Band of 15,600-39,100 with Grade Pay of 5400, are reserved.

Since it is not possible to call all the eligible candidates for the interview, the applications will be short-listed. Decision of the Director, NIPGR in this regard will be final. No correspondence or personal enquiries will be entertained by NIPGR in this behalf.
