1) DBT Multi-Institutional project entitled “Nutritional Improvement of Indian Oilseed Mustard Using CRISPR-Cas9 Mediated Genome Editing”,

Research Associate (RA-I-one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D) degree awarded in Life Sciences or equivalent with good publication recod are eligible to apply. Candidate should have excellent experience of more than 2 years in plant tissue culture and developing transgenic events in Brassica crops. Candidate having prior work experience in performing molecular analysis and phenotyping of transgenic and genome-editing events is highly desirable.

2) SERB project entitled “Investigating the roles of heterotrimeric G-protein components (Gα and RGS) towards governing    agronomical traits and abiotic stress tolerance in India oilseed mustard”.

Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent duly supported with research work are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plants will be preferred.

3) NIPGR Short Term Research Fellow Scheme

Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Qualification: : Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc./M.Tech research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plant tissue culture and plant metabolism and having publication record will be preferred.

The fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. Essential Qualification: Candidate selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019/ and having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 55% marks) in Bioinformatics are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in RNAseq data analysis, and knowledge of R programming will be given preference.


Research Associate (RA-I-one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.  

Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D) degree awarded in Life Sciences or equivalent with good academic record (overall 55% marks throughout the academic carrier) are eligible for interview. Candidate having work experience with tissue culture, callus mediated regeneration and southern blotting is mandatory. Those having experience in legume transformation and demonstrated ability to develop transgenics will be preferred.

The fellowship amount for the above position are at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. Eligibility: Candidates having a PhD degree in the discipline of Life Sciences (including Plant Molecular Biology/Plant Pathology) with strong publication record can apply. Candidate must have knowledge/work experience in plant virology. Candidates having prior experience in microscopy techniques/virus localization along with experience in working with Begomovirus/other Geminivirus will be preferred.

Name of the Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I (PA-I) 01 post (Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)

Eligibility: Candidates having Master’s degree in bioinformatics/computational biology/life science with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in master degree can apply. Candidates with NET and also those who qualify as per the criteria mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 can apply. The candidate is required to have knowledge in HTML/CSS scripting, MySQL, PHP and basics of Javascript. Prior work experience in R programming language, machine learning, dynamic or interactive database development, large scale data visualization and big data analysis is preferred.

Name of the Position: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) / Project Associate-II (PA-II) 01 post (Emoluments as per DST-SERB norms)

Eligibility: Candidates having Master’s degree in bioinformatics/computational biology/life science with at least 55% (or equivalent) marks in master degree and a minimum of two year of post M.Sc. research experience can apply.
