Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the CSIR project entitled “Decoding the N-acetylglucosamine singnalling pathway in microbial pathogens for disease control”, of Prof. Asis Datta, DES, NIPGR.

Senior Research Fellow (One post): Emoluments as per CSIR  norms & as sanctioned in the project.


Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Science/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any other related field with at least two years of post-masters research experience in molecular biology laboratory are eligible to apply. The Candidature must be supported with published research papers in standard refereed journals.


The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Candidates are invited to appear in a walk-in-interview before a selection committee for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate (RA) in the "Short-Term Research Fellowships/Post-Doctorate Fellowships" programme of the Institute under the supervision of Dr. Ananda K. Sarkar, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the position are as under:


Name of Position: Research Associate (RA) 01 post. 


Eligibility: Candidates having doctorate (Ph. D.) degree in the discipline of Life Sciences (including Plant Development Biology/Plant Molecular Biology) are eligible for interview. Candidates should have excellent academic track record with minimum 1st class grade (12th onwards). Work experience (Ph. D. and Post-Ph. D.) in the area of plant developmental biology, evidenced by good publication record, is desirable for the position.


The Fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The above positions are completely on temporary basis with a maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving a month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 09:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on November 18, 2019. The candidate reporting after 10:30 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, original degree certificates, experience certificate, etc. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
