Candidates are invited to appear for online interview before a selection committee for filling up the purely temporary positions in the DBT Flagship Project entitled “Imparting sheath blight disease tolerance in rice”, under the supervision of  Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the positions are as under:

Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification:  Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Agriculture/Plant Science/Botany or equivalent are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior experience in the laboratory of plant tissue culture, molecular biology, biochemistry of field experience of rice research will be preferred.

Research Associate (RA-III) (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having Ph.D. degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or related field are eligible to apply. Candidates having MTech in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics with three years post-MTech research experience and with at least one research publication Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal can also apply as mentioned in DST office memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having research experience in the area of molecular biology, functional genomics, bioinformatics, genomics-assisted breeding duly supported with relevant publications will be preferred.

The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Upper age limit: 35 years


Eligibility: Candidates having a M. Sc./M. Tech. degree (with minimum of 60% marks overall) in Bioinformatics are eligible for interview. Preference will be given to the fresh candidates (passed M. Sc./M. Tech in the year 2020).

The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The above position is completely on temporary basis with a maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. Qualification: Candidates having M.Tech. (Engineering or Technology) or Ph.D. (awarded) degree in Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Plant Molecular Biology or any other related field is eligible to apply. The candidate should have an excellent academic record (with a minimum of 60% marks throughout their education) and research experience. At least two first-authored publications in peer-reviewed international journals with JCR impact factor are desirable.

(ii) Senior Project Associate (one post): Emoluments `. 42000/- per month plus HRA, as sanctioned in the project
Upper age limit: 40 years

Qualification: Candidates having Master’s degree in natural or agricultural science/ M.VSc or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or medicine from a recognized university or equivalent, and four years of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services; OR Doctoral degree in science/engineering/technology/pharma/MD/MS from a recognized university or equivalent are eligible to apply. As the project involves hard core bioinformatics and analysis of sequencing data, candidates having a degree (M.Sc./M.Tech/MCA/B.Tech/Ph.D.) and experience in bioinformatics/computer science/computer applications would be preferable.

(iii) Scientific Administrative Assistant (one post): Emoluments `. 18000/- per month plus HRA, as sanctioned in the project

Qualification: Candidates having a Graduate degree in any discipline are eligible to apply. Basic computer literacy with knowledge in MS Office tools is desirable. Prior work experience in research laboratories/institutions will be given preference.

1. Name of Position (1 post): Research Associate II. (Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)

Eligibility: Candidates having Ph.D. in plant Sciences or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidates having experience in generating transgenic plants and/or genome editing tools will be preferred. Experience in generating transgenic in rice/chickpea/mustard/tomato will get additional preference. The experience should be supported with documentary evidences. 

2. Name of Position (5 posts): Senior Research Fellow. (Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms)

Eligibility: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 55% marks) in any stream of Life Sciences or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in generating transgenic plants and/or genome editing tools will be preferred. Experience in generating transgenic in rice/chickpea/mustard/tomato will get additional preference. The experience should be supported with documentary evidences. 

3. Name of Position (1 post): Laboratory Assistant (Consolidated emoluments of . 17000/- p.m.)

Age: 50 years

Eligibility: Candidates having B.Sc./Graduate degree or three year diploma in Engineering and Technology. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should have working hand experience on handling autoclave, tissue culture media preparation, maintenance of green house and tissue culture related works.

4. Name of Position (1 post): Laboratory Attendant (Consolidated emoluments of . 17000/- p.m.)

Eligibility: Candidate should be minimum 10th pass. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should working hand experience on handling autoclave, glass-ware cleaning, maintenance and cleaning of green house and maintaining plants in green house and experimental field.

5. Name of Position (1 post) : Office Assistant (Consolidated emoluments of . 15800/- p.m.)

Eligibility: Candidate should be minimum XIIth pass. Working experience in a laboratory engaged in any field of life science research. Candidates should have working hand experience on handling autoclave, tissue culture media preparation, maintenance of green house and tissue culture related works.

The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority.
