Candidates are invited to appear in a walk-in-interview before a selection committee for filling up the purely temporary positionof Trainee Fellow for the period of six months in the DBT project entitled “Establishment of a Distributed Information Sub-Centre (DISC)”under the supervision of Dr. Shailesh Kumar, Scientist, NIPGR. The details of the position are as under

Trainee Fellow: Candidate having Master Degree or equivalent in Life Sciences/Bioinformatics/Biotechnology (any specialization) with strong interest in Computational Biology and First class/division throughout academic career are eligible to attend. Preference will be given to candidates with fresh (passed in year 2018) master’s degree.

The above position is completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The appointment will be for six months w.e.f 01/10/2019 or from the date of the joining of the candidate, which can be curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The position may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of DISC/NIPGR.

Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary positions of three Research Associate (RA-III), one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) and one Field Assistant in the above mentioned project under the supervision of Dr. Ramesh V. Sonti, Director, NIPGR and Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR.


Research Associate (RA-III) (three Posts): Emoluments as per DST/DBT/Institute norms and as sanctioned in the project.


Essential Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D.) degree in any discipline of Life Sciences/Biotechnology/Biology or equivalent with good publication record are eligible to apply. Candidate having a prior work experience in genome editing of plant or host-pathogen interactions and good publication track record will be preferred.


Junior Research Fellow (JRF) (one Post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT/Institute norms and as sanctioned in the project.


Essential Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and/or having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 55% marks) in Life Sciences/Engineering or equivalent are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plant-pathogen interaction or molecular breeding studies in crop will be preferred.


Field Assistant (one Post): Consolidated Emoluments . 16182/- as sanctioned in the project.


Essential Qualification: Candidates must have atleast three years working experience in growing plant growth chamber and green house. An experience in working with rice and tomato is desirable.


The fellowship amount for the above positions are at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT/Institute’s norms or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. Essential Qualification: Candidate selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019/ Institute norms and/or having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Bioinformatics are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in RNAseq data analysis will be given preference.
