24 – 27 March, 2026

This event is being conducted in collaboration with Switzerland based PLAZI and CODATA National Cte at INSA. It will introduce participants to practical methods for extracting knowledge from scientific literature, structuring it as FAIR data, and enabling its reuse using modern approaches like AI and NLP. Students and researchers at NIPGR are especially encouraged to apply, as these skills are becoming increasingly important for open science and AI-driven research workflows.
The workshop will cover topics such as:
• Foundations of FAIR data principles
• Literature-based data extraction and annotation workflows
• AI-assisted knowledge mining from scientific publications
• Methods for reusing biodiversity and scientific data across digital repositories
Although the case studies will focus on biodiversity literature, the methods and tools discussed are broadly applicable across many domains, including genomics, crop science, systems biology, and other data-intensive fields.
