The state of Goa is a tropical paradise located on the west coast of India. It is unique from the rest of India because of its history and geography. The people of Goa or Goans are friendly, fun-loving and peaceful.

Its idyllic tropical white sand beaches and warm tropical waters beckon to those who want to just relax. Its rich cultural blend of Indo-Portuguese heritage as is reflected in its history, culture, cuisine and its people has its own appeal, especially to those wanting to explore its past. For the international visitor, English is widely spoken and understood. It has a well maintained infrastructure and a growing service sector.

Goa, nestling on the western coast of India, enchants the visions of vast blue seas of Arabian Ocean. Its never-ending coastal stretches, sunbathing, feni - (an erotic drink) and its people, makes Goa only a true resort state. Goa's carnivals, colossal and unique Portuguese villas, ancient Hindu temples, magnificent churches and the lively attitude to life has charged Goa with magnetic force that attracts millions of tourists around the world. With a varied choice of more than forty beaches, one can choose from placid, serene stretches of white sand to lively partying beaches full of fun and enthusiasm.

Besides the arrayed Goan beaches there is lot more in the treasures of this land, visit the 500-year-old churches, royal forts and beautifully carved temples scattered all over the Goa State that will definitely leave you mesmerized.

Morning after breakfast proceed on Half day sightseeing of Goa. In Old Goa is all about visiting its various churches, chapels, and cathedrals that are an architectural delight and are considered as the largest in Asia.

In 1510, the Portuguese mariner Alfonso de Albuquerque vanquished Goa, an event that was commemorated with the building of the Arch of the Viceroys near the Chapel of St Cajetan, which was modelled on St Peter's basilica in Rome. This architectural style which is a reminiscent of Lisbon, gives Old Goa a grand, Portuguese feel.

The imposing Se Cathedral of St. Catherine lies southwest of St Cajetan's. The church is larger than any church in Portugal and is the largest church in Asia. It has 14 altars, an 80m long aisle, and five bells including the Golden Bell, said to be one of the best in the world.

Amongst the few surviving edifices are the Church of St. Francis of Assisi and the Se Cathedral, which are built in the Baroque and Manuline style. The Archaeological Museum and Portrait Gallery function in an abandoned convent in the compound. The museum is open daily except Friday, from 10am to 5 pm.

Close to the convent of St Francis, the late 16th century Basilica of Bom Jesus with its richly gilded altars is famous throughout the Catholic world. This cathedral is the venue for a pilgrimage for both Christians and Hindus who come to pay homage to the embalmed mortal remains of Goa's most famous saint, St. Francis Xavier, enshrined in a silver casket since 1553.

Optional tour : Lunch & visit to a Spice Farm - The "Sahakari "or co-operative Spice farm is approximately one hours drive from the hotel. On arrival, the guests receive a traditional welcome with fresh coconut water followed by hot ginger tea.

After a short briefing on the activities and the spices grown on the farm, the well trained guides will them take them around the plantation. Located at Curti-Ponda amidst the lush green and serene surroundings and Developed with the guidance of different experts at the Indian Institute of Agricultural Research. This farm is completely organic and the best example in the state of Goa.

The farm occupies a total area of 126 acres with 50 acres brought under cultivation of spices and tropical fruits. Some of the spices cultivated are Black pepper, Nutmeg, Cinnamon, Cardamom, Cloves, Chillies and the unique to this farm is the "Vanilla pods". Coffee and Tea plants are cultivated on a small scale. There is also a large scale cultivation of Coconuts, Betel nut and Banana plants.

While going around the farm, one can see varieties of fruit bearing trees like Papaya, Mangoes, Jackfruits, Bread-fruit, Grape-fruit, Star-fruits, Cashews and different types of ayurvedic herbs etc.

The farm also has varieties of botanical tropical plants.

There is a "Cashew Feni" distillation unit, crossbred cows, Compost pit and a "Gobar Gas" or methane plant, which are all interconnected.

Two meandering rivulets pass through the farm irrigating the plantation. Visitors can wade through the pure, cool, running water and enjoy in a pollutant free atmosphere

A short display of the unique method of Betel nut harvesting, by swinging from tree to tree, is an added attraction. After the farm visit, a traditional Goan meal, served on a banana leaf, is scheduled.
