International Workshop on “Ensembl Browser & Train the Trainers”

The BRIC-National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Ensembl team, is organizing a specialized workshop on genome annotation, comparative genomics, and the use of Ensembl bioinformatics resources.
The workshop will provide participants with hands-on exposure to Ensembl databases, genome annotation, gene and transcript exploration, comparative genomics, and other computational resources for modern genomics research. Sessions conducted by experts from the Ensembl team will introduce participants to practical approaches for accessing, analysing, and interpreting genomic information.
The workshop is intended for research scholars, scientists, faculty members, and students working in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, plant science, and related disciplines.

The workshop aims to strengthen participants’ practical understanding of international genomic resources and promote their effective integration into contemporary plant genomics and bioinformatics research.
This workshop will be divided into two days, where first day will be dedicated to Ensembl Genome Browser and resources. This training will be available for 100 participants. On the second day of the workshop, we will trained the trainers (e.g., faculty, scientists, college teachers) about the ensembl resources. This training will be available for 25 participants.

Number of Participants for the first day: 100 (College Students, Researchers, PhD students and faculty)
Number of Participants for Second day: 25 Shortlisting for both days of the event will be done based on CV, research interest and previous expertise in the field of Genomics and Bioinformatics. We will provide workshop kit, lunch and High tea (twice) during the event.
