Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary position of one Research Associate (RA-I) in the SERB project entitled "Comparative analysis of the epigenetic landscape to heat stress adaptation in two contrasting tomato cultivars", and one post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the NIPGR Short-Term Fellowship Scheme under the supervision of Dr. Saloni Mathur, Scientist, NIPGR.

Research Associate (RA-I) (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms and as sanctioned in the project.

Essential Qualification: Candidates having a Ph.D. degree (awarded) in any discipline of Life Sciences with throughout good academic record having first division with strong publication record are eligible for interview. Candidate having prior work experience in abiotic stress related research in plants, sufficient knowledge in usage of computers and exposure to Next Generation Sequencing platforms is desirable. Candidates having basic bioinformatics knowledge to work on servers will be preferred.

Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: : Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 55% marks) in Bioinformatics/Life Sciences/Biotechnology or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc./M.Tech research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in the area of miRNAs and abiotic stress response will be preferred.

The above position are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be extended/curtailed on the basis of assessment of the candidate’s performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Monday, February 03, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. along the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on February 03, 2020. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with full bio-data, publications if any and original degree certificates and transcripts. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
