Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the walk-in-interview for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA-I), one Senior Research Fellow and one Junior Research Fellow in the following projects/schemes under the supervision of Dr. Naveen C. Bisht, Scientist, NIPGR.

  • DBT Multi-Institutional project entitled “Nutritional Improvement of Indian Oilseed Mustard Using CRISPR-Cas9 Mediated Genome Editing”,
    Research Associate (RA-I-one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
    Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D) degree awarded in Life Sciences or equivalent with good publication recod are eligible to apply. Candidate should have excellent experience of more than 2 years in plant tissue culture and developing transgenic events in Brassica crops. Candidate having prior work experience in performing molecular analysis and phenotyping of transgenic and genome-editing events is highly desirable.
  • SERB project entitled “Investigating the roles of heterotrimeric G-protein components (Gα and RGS) towards governing agronomical traits and abiotic stress tolerance in India oilseed mustard”.
    Junior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.
    Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent duly supported with research work are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plants will be preferred.
  • NIPGR Short Term Research Fellow Scheme
    Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.
    Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc./M.Tech research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plant tissue culture and plant metabolism and having publication record will be preferred.

The fellowship amount for the above positions is at par with the similar fellowships by DST/DBT or as sanctioned in the project. The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project/scheme whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving on month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on April 03, 2020 (Friday) at 10:00 a.m. along with the duly filled in application form in the prescribed format. The duly filled application form must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on April 03, 2020. Any candidate reporting after 12:00 noon will not be entertained for walk-in-interview. The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All the candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data and original degree/experience certificates. Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note: ONLY hard copy of the application in the given format will be accepted. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
