Automated DNA sequencing facility at NIPGR is equipped with ABI3730xl DNA analyzer capable of analyzing ninety-six samples within two hours. Big Dye terminator chemistry version 3.1 is being used for cycle sequencing with the help of ABI9700 PCR cycler. A senior technical officer manage the facility. Cloned DNA, PCR products and BAC ends are analyzed using POP7 polymer and 50cm array capable of producing 900 base reads. AFLP reaction products are also analyzed.

BAC clones of Tomato chromosome 5 are being sequenced as a part of the International Initiatives on Solanaceae Genomics (SOL). In addition, several thousand Chickpea (Cicer arietinum) and Periwinkle (Catharanthus roseus) EST sequences have also produced from this facility.
