Candidates are invited to appear before selection committee in the online interview for filling up the purely temporary positions of two RA, one SRF, two Field Assistant and one Field/Lab Assistant in the following projects/schemes under the supervision of Dr. Naveen C. Bisht, Scientist, NIPGR.

1. DBT Multi-Institutional project entitled “Nutritional Improvement of Indian Oilseed Mustard Using CRISPR-Cas9 Mediated Genome Editing”,

Research Associate (RA-I-one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D) degree awarded in Life Sciences or equivalent with good publication recod are eligible to apply. Candidate should have excellent experience of more than 2 years in plant tissue culture and developing transgenic events in Brassica crops. Candidate having prior work experience in performing molecular analysis and phenotyping of transgenic and genome-editing events is highly desirable.

Field Assistant (one post): Emoluments . 18000/- per month consolidated as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having B.Sc./Graduate degree or three year diploma in Engineering and Technology are eligible to apply. Cnadidate having at least one year of working experience in field related work including growing and maintaninig crop plants will be preferred. Candidate with prior experience in research labs, and working with Brassica and Arabidopsis, will be given preference. Candidate should be well versed with lab cleaning, autoclaving and general media preparation.

2. SERB project entitled “Investigating the roles of heterotrimeric G-protein components (Gα and RGS) towards governing agronomical traits and abiotic stress tolerance in India oilseed mustard”.

Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms & as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: : Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum number SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019. Candidates having M.Sc./M.Tech degree (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Sciences/Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or equivalent and minimum of two years of post M.Sc./M.Tech research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate with prior work experience in plants will be preferred.

3. DBT project entitled “Biofortification of branched chain amino acid-leucine in Brassica crops using CRISPR-Cas9 mediated genome editing”.

Field Assistant (one post): Emoluments . 15000/- per month consolidated as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having B.Sc./Graduate degree or three year diploma in Engineering and Technology are eligible to apply. Cnadidate having at least one year of working experience in field related work including growing and maintaninig crop plants will be preferred. Candidate with prior experience in research labs, and working with Brassica and Arabidopsis, will be given preference. 4. DBT- BBSRC Multi Institutional project entitled “Genomics-led improvement of biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in mustard rape for economic and environmental sustainability”.

Field/Laboratory Assistant (one post): Emoluments . 18000/- per month consolidated as sanctioned in the project.

Qualification: Candidates having B.Sc./Graduate degree or three year diploma in Engineering and Technology are eligible to apply. Cnadidate having at least one year of working experience in field related work including growing and maintaninig crop plants will be preferred. Candidate with prior experience in research labs, and working with Brassica and Arabidopsis, will be given preference. Candidate should be well versed with lab cleaning, autoclaving and general media preparation.

5. NIPGR Short Term Research Fellow Scheme

Research Associate (RA-I one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Qualification: Candidates having doctorate (Ph.D) degree awarded in Life Sciences or equivalent with good publication recod are eligible to apply. Candidate should have work experience in plant tissue culture, Plant metabolism and plant-pest/pathogen studies and having good publication record will be preferred.

The above positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The fellowship/emolument amount for the above positions are as sanctioned in the project and as per DBT/DST norms. The initial appointment will be for one year or till the tenability of the project whichever is earlier and the same can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending upon the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated any time by giving one month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim implicit or explicit for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.
