Qualification: Candidates selected through National Eligibility Tests as mentioned in the DST Office Memorandum SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated January 30, 2019 and having M.Sc. degree or equivalent (with minimum 60% marks) in Life Science/ Biochemistry/Biotechnology/Molecular Biology or any other related field with at least two years post-Master’s research experience in molecular biology laboratory. The candidature must be supported with published research papers in standard refereed journals.

The Fellowship amount for the above position is at par with the similar fellowships by DBT/DST. The above position is completely on temporary basis with a maximum duration of three years. The initial appointment will be for a period of one year, which can be curtailed or extended based on the performance of the candidate and discretion of the Competent Authority. Qualification: Candidates having M.Tech. Qualification: Candidates having Master’s degree in natural or agricultural science/ M.VSc or bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology or medicine from a recognized university or equivalent, and four years of experience in research and development in industrial and academic institutions or science and technology organizations and scientific activities and services; OR Doctoral degree in science/engineering/technology/pharma/MD/MS from a recognized university or equivalent are eligible to apply. As the project involves hard core bioinformatics and analysis of sequencing data, candidates having a degree (M.Sc./M.Tech/MCA/B.Tech/Ph.D.) and experience in bioinformatics/computer science/computer applications would be preferable.

Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India, has established the National Genomics and Genotyping Facility which can be viewed as a “Single-window service system” for advanced genomics technology services that could positively influence the Indian Seed industry. The facility is anchored at the National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advance these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple – create and charter an entity with express purpose of “serving” crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc. as well as will prevent bio-piracy. This facility could be used by both Public and Private stake holders and will strengthen Indian researchers by training them and by exchange of expertise in collaboration with international partners. Seed fund is provided by DBT and the facility is being established at NIPGR. Model of the proposed facility would be Public Private Partnership anchored to NIPGR. Operational cost to be earned by running as a PPP model for sustainability as well as to generate revenue and to make itself sustainable within the defined period.

National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi, an Autonomous Research Institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India being the anchoring institution of the Facility, invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic and result oriented candidates with a flair for service to fill up the various positions on contract basis as detailed below. National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi is an Autonomous Research Institution funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, to pursue research on various aspects of plant genomics. The Institute is also in the process of establishing a NIPGR Translational Centre at Biotech Science Cluster, NCR, Faridabad. A. Scientists

Applicant should have excellent academic credentials along with the track record of scientific productivity evidenced by publications/patents/products in the frontier areas of Plant Biology such as, Computational Biology, Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Development and Architecture, Plant Immunity, Molecular Breeding, Transgenics for crop improvement and other emerging areas based on plant genomics.

General terms & conditions :

• These posts carry usual allowances i.e. Dearness Allowances, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance etc., as admissible to the Central Government employees and as made applicable in NIPGR. The Pay Levels mentioned above are as per the pay structure of VIIth Pay Commission of the Government of India. Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India,  is establishing a National Genomics and Genotyping Facility which can be viewed as a “Single-window service system” for advanced genomics technology services that could positively influence the Indian Seed industry. The facility will be affiliated with National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi (NIPGR) and serve to facilitate genotyping services with private service providers and then advanced these, in a focused way, to meet the goal of food and nutritional security through genomics led breeding. The fundamental principle is relatively simple – create and charter an entity with express purpose of “serving” crop or plant varietal genotyping and characterization in India. It will also help to overcome legal hurdles in Material Transfer, IPR protection, etc. as well as will prevent bio-piracy. This facility could be used by both Public and Private stake holders and will strengthen Indian researchers by training them and by exchange of expertise in collaboration with international partners. Seed fund would be provided by DBT and facility will be established at NIPGR. Operational cost to be earned by running as a PPP model for sustainability. Model of the proposed facility would be Public Private Partnership and anchored to NIPGR. Private Service provider would run proposed facility and generate revenue and proposed to make itself sustainable within the defined period. National Institute of Plant Genome Research, New Delhi, an Autonomous Research Institution of Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India being the anchoring institution of the Facility invites applications from suitably qualified, dynamic and result oriented candidates with flair for service to fill up the various positions on contract basis as detailed below. Qualification: Candidates should be minimum 10+2 (Intermediate) pass with Science subject.
